I’ve watched them walk through deep waters and witnessed them wading through the Jordan on their long last journey home. I’ve seen them taste bitter sorrows, yet stay sweet. The Jesus I know is the Jesus they lived before me.

I’ve known them to suffer heartache too heavy for words, still they carried it in silence and bore it with grace — and I saw Christ’s sufferings embodied in their untold stories. My faith has been restored by the faith they lived before me. My courage has been renewed because they refused to cower to a cruel Enemy.

It is of these saints that I sing. It is from these saints, scaling heights far above me, that I heard a song which made me strive to join them. And it is to these saints that I will forever owe my soul. Through their presence, Christ has been ever-present in my pilgrimage here.
